Man's Long Course and the Five Senses
Man's Long Course and the Five Senses
The planetary sphere twirls in its course in between the channels of Good and Evil, Light and Darkness. Man, restrained by chains in arms and feet and tied at the waist to the axis-pole is trying to understand the world around him through the senses.
His hearing (ear) is assaulted by the cries of the war horn
His sense of touch (finger) is wounded by the sword
His smell (nose) takes in the smell of the fires of war
His taste (tongue) is overwhelmed by the blood drops of slaughter
His sight (eye) takes in all those images that are incomprehensible and illogical
The forces of Evil are marching through the shadow channels holding the cross in one hand and the sword in the other, impaling the planetary sphere. Horror and despair.
There is light at the end of the channel. With bloody hands he is trying to break out of the shell encasing him. He is crawling out with palms outstretched to find mercy and redemption.
